Difference between xylem and phloem

   

Xylem

        It is a long tube complex,dead and other permanent  tissue  responsible for carrying nutrients  and water is used to conduct water and minerals from root to other parts of plants.Both water and minerals always goes in upward direction from root to the other parts of plants.osmotic pressure mostly generated in the cell of the roots to help them to drive fluid in upward direction.only in xylem material transport in unidirectional.

Phloem


        It is permanent tissue  which is soft the most important role of this tissue to transport food from leaves to all parts of the plants after the process of photosynthesis. In this tissue material iotransport in all direction,it means it is a non directional .

1.xylem is a tissue which are transport water and minerals from root to the plants while phloem transport from leaves to the plants.

2.xylem mainly made of dead cell while phloem generally made of living cell.

3.xylem found in the center of the vascular bundle but phloem found outside of the vascular bundle.

4.xylem and phloem both are conducting tissue they helps to growth of plants.
